CAPE TOWN, THE UNIVERSE IS TAKING THE STAGE.
The countdown starts now. Joburg Ballet brings Celestial Bodies to The Baxter, where ballet, live piano, science and immersive visuals collide in a spectacular journey through the cosmos.
Celestial Bodies blends classical and contemporary ballet with astronomy, physics, live music, and cinematic visual projections. A unique production born from the collaboration between Joburg Ballet and Universe on stage.
It explores themes that includes the interplay of order and chaos, the origins of the universe, and the connection between human movement and celestial mechanics. It is choreographed by Joburg Ballet’s Naledi Award-winning Associate Choreographer Mario Gaglione, with music composed by Yasheen Modi and scientific narration/visual integration by Dr. Luca Pontiggia.
